    Recipe Hunt

One of my New Year’s resolutions is to try two new recipes a month and it’s almost the end of the month and I haven’t tried anything. It’s been a busy month work-wise (we moved offices) and I just have been too lazy to try to find anything. Add that to a lot of sleepless nights and I haven’t been motivated at. all. While I love Buvette–my favorite cookbook–a lot of the recipes I’d like to try take either a lot of time or need to be prepared a day in advance, neither of which work for me right now. I do take the time once a month to make…

    New Year’s Menus

As we’re not going out this year for New Year’s, I want to make a very special meal to mark the occasion. Honestly, it’s difficult to go out when you have to drive home, as that kind of defeats the purpose of being able to have champagne on New Year’s. (The other things I miss are: the sound of the bells from the National Cathedral, the quick walk to our neighborhood Whole Foods, sadly closed now!, and our great neighbors.) We had everything you needed for any of our go-to cocktails, and every day when we got home from work we would make one and relax. It was a nice way to end the day and transition from work to home life. After careful study, we finally came up with…

Recipes of the Week, Vol. 9

I haven’t done one of these posts in a while! I love trying to come up with menus from the week, even though lately they seem to be more ambitious than I have time for. I’m eager to start making delicious comfort food again, though, now that the weather has cooled down. Below are three recipes I’m looking forward to making. Ina Garten’s take on Julia Childs’ boeuf bourguignon is one of my favorite dishes. It still tastes amazing although it only takes a few hours rather than a day + to make! I love pairing this with my go-to soda bread. Some whiskey (I love Irish whiskey) is perfect for…
