    The Winter Show

The Winter Show has always been one of my favorite New York traditions. I actually inadvertently found my engagement ring there a few years ago! (I felt bad because I had my heart set on that ring once I saw it at the James Robinson booth and my husband had wanted to pick one out for me!) In any case, the Winter Antiques Show is filled with exhibitions, antiques, maps, jewelry, furniture, and paintings… and so much more! Dream House

We’ve been looking at houses off and on for the past couple of years. She was also a prolific fiction writer. This book is a collection of her short stories and I’m already completely immersed. Keep the Aspidistra Flying, George Orwell: My husband gave me a copy of this Orwell novel.…

It’s been so difficult to be a mother myself when I don’t have mine any more. My mother’s death was a surprise to me. For the two years before she died she went downhill and uphill again. There were times, three of them at least, when we were sure she was going to die. She received the Last Rites more times than I can count. I was lucky to have been there for her. When I was a teenager, in high…
